Amy Winehouse inquest documents mailed to wrong address
After the documents were turned in at a police station, authorities are investigating as to how an inquest report concerning the death of Amy Winehouse could have been sent to the wrong destination.
The misdirected documents are thought to contain information about Winehouse’s tragic end and were supposed to have been sent to the singer’s family. The report was turned in to police last week. Christina Perri A Thousand Years

“Police were informed on Friday 21 October that material relating to a forthcoming inquest may have been delivered to an incorrect address,” a Metropolitan police spokesman said. “On Friday evening, the material was handed in at a north London police station. Inquiries are now underway to establish the full circumstances of this matter.” Christina Perri A Thousand Years

Further investigation was needed to determine the exact nature of Winehouse’s death after the singer was discovered in her London flat. The initial inquest was opened and closed on July 25 after the singer’s death on July 23, and is set to reopen this week.
The first inquiry failed to draw any conclusions, though the family revealed afterward that the toxicology report revealed no illegal drugs in Amy’s system.
The Winehouse family released a statement which read: “Results indicate that alcohol was present, but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death. The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October.”
Mitch Winehouse, Amy’s father, has set up a foundation in the singer’s name to help others sort through the same kind of addictions that are thought to have led to Amy’s death. Mitch announced earlier this month that he planned to write a book, “a definitive account of Amy’s life.” Proceeds will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
